BROOMHILL HOUSE FARM

Broomhill House Farm is situated in the beautiful parish of Barrow, containing the villages of Great Barrow, Little Barrow and Stamford Bridge. It is situated about 4.5 miles east-north-east of Chester. It was until recently a cattle farm of which the two barn conversions formed part of the milking parlours. The farmhouse was set adjacent to the barn itself, however this was demolished and re-located next to the barn using a glass walkway to link the two properties. The glass walkway acts as a visual centrepiece to combine the heritage of the barn to the new buildings itself. The clay used to build the original farm buildings was mined from the land at the farm; the mine area is situated to the south, which now has a large pond between two oak trees.

Once part of a rural farm setting, now beautifully restored into one of Chester’s most stunning barn conversions.
Shortlisted at the LABC awards for ‘best change of use or conversion’ for its sustainability attributes including a state of the art Bio-Fuel system that works throughout the entire build.

Works began on Broomhill House Farm in December 2012 and finished in March 2014.

EXTERIOR

Using reclaimed Cheshire brick and reclaimed Welsh slate, the exterior of the property fits beautifully into the lush green countryside of Cheshire as well as staying true to the ethos of Cheshire Barn Homes in bringing back forgotten rural buildings to their former glory.

Interior

A contemporary-classic style was applied inside, again using our local partners to ensure that the quality and integrity of the materials matched those used in the exterior.
