Based in the centre of the picturesque and highly regarded hamlet of Oscroft, set only 1 mile from Tarvin village, Oscroft Farm Barns are a collection of four beautifully restored plots nestled in the heart of Cheshire, offering outstanding views toward Willington Hills. Originally part of the main Oscroft Farmland, the barns were originally used to house livestock.
Broomhill Barn has undergone a number of additions from the time it was originally built, thought to be in the 1700s. In particular, the original entrance has been bricked up. What’s interesting about this barn is the chimney stack in the west gable wall. This chimney stack would have been installed to keep the farm workers warm at night – this is unusual in many barns.
Broomhill House Farm is situated in the beautiful parish of Barrow, containing the villages of Great Barrow, Little Barrow and Stamford Bridge. It is situated about 4.5 miles east-north-east of Chester. It was until recently a cattle farm of which the two barn conversions formed part of the milking parlours. The farmhouse was set adjacent to the barn itself, however this was demolished and re-located next to the barn using a glass walkway to link the two properties.
Hoofield Hall Barns once formed part of Hoofield Hall in Clotton Hoofield, in the civil parish of Huxley, Cheshire. Situated in one of Cheshire’s most desirable locations near Tarporley, the barns open onto the courtyard of Hoofield Hall. Originally an old dairy and arable farm, the farmhouse buildings face Peckforton Hills and Beeston Castle, and feature red brick, cast iron wall ties, wooden beams, terracotta colourings and a slate roof.
